Knitting Olympics 2010
Four years ago I knitted my very first child's cable sweater for the 2006 Knitting Olympics. Two years ago during the Summer 2008 Olympics, I knitted my first teddy bear, which we named "Oly" the Olympic Bear for my son to qualify for the 2010 Knitting Olympics.
Well the time has arrived!! And I cast-on my first lace project, during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies. I'll be making the Fountain Lace Scarf in Valley Yarn's Florence color #34394 (Sage Green). The yarn is a blend of 50% Fine Merino Wool, 35% Acrylic, and 15%Kid Mohair.
Now I really feel like a returning Knitting Olympian. Since my last Olympic competition, I've suffered thumb and wrist injuries . . . carpel tunnel from breastfeeding my son in 2007 and tendinitis recently from shoveling snow these last two weeks. I guess when you really want something you'll compete even with injury like Skier, Lindsey Vonn. By the way I am totally ogling her Olympic Ring knitted hat - I know I can make that!
Let the knitting begin!!
