Geekin' Out

Ok so you all know that the husband and I are huge Sci Fi fans. On Saturday the husband had his Star Wars collecting friends over (the Ohio Star Wars Collectors Club a.k.a. OSWCC). We had our first BBQ with the new grill. One of the OSWCC members taught the husband how to use his new grill, so he didn't end up charring the burgers too badly. We all had a very good time and we watched all three episodes of the original Star Wars trillogy, the Robot Chicken Star Wars, and our Star Wars Celebration IV photos.

So if you ever wondered what happens when nerds and sci fi geeks get together and drink, this is what happens . . . you atart making Star Wars costumes out of household appliances!

Out of This World

We are visiting Grandpa and Great Grandpa for Father's Day this weekend. Of course Little Man and the Kitten came too. Grandpa is really into NASA and we stayed up the other night to see the space station as it orbited the Earth. We were able to see it with the naked eye and it moved pretty quickly through the sky. Of course the husband had his tripod set up and took pictures.

The space station actually looked like a really bright star moving fairly quickly through the sky. What you are seeing in the picture is actually the movement of the space station. That's why it looks like a streak of light.

End of an Era Brings New Beginnings

Our Last Picture Together with the Kitty
12 Years Together
January 21, 1995 - May 27, 2007

Isn't this such a great photo! This is the Kitty's last picture with us. While we are on vacation in L.A. we found out that the Kitty had a lymphoma mass that was taking up the space of her chest cavity. Although there was no way we would have been able to feel the mass to know that it was there, we still wish we could have done more for her. Luckily Logoann was able to spend time with her while we are on vacation and be with the Kitty when she passed. In the end it might have been a good thing that I wasn't there but she will always be with me.

The husband and I discussed adopting another furry baby . . . there are so many that need good homes. After we layed the Kitty to rest I was able to feel closure and start thinking about letting another furball into my life. Although no one would take the Kitty's place, we decided we have enough love to share with a new little one.

We talked about older kitties and decided upon a kitten - God help us now we have 2 babies! Here is a pic of the Kitten - we will definately be changing her name. This is the pic from the humane society web page that we found her on.

She Did It! She Did it!

Woo Hoo! Congratulations Logoann! She finished all her papers and finals and now we get to go see her graduate on June 10! We are so very proud of her. Now if we could just figure out what kind of cake or dessert to get for her party we would be all set!

We are having a party at my house for Logoann On June 10 after the comencement, so come on over to celebrate.
